Morning wood: Big day for football blogs, and morons

Big doin’s on Monday over at ProFootballTalk.com, one of the Web’s busiest pro football sites. First came the news that the site has entered into an official partnership to provide content for NBC. There’s been some hand-wringing across the blogosphere as to whether this relationship will water down the edgy info provided by the site, but we say bully for PFT. Christ, if NBC is actually going to pay Keith Olbermann to blather on their Sunday night broadcasts, the least they can do is pay some people who are actually worth a crap.

We love Arizona softball

We love Arizona softball

Then later in the day, PFT updated us on the latest chapter in Favreapalooza, wherein the grizzled QB delivers a nationally televised interview to state that he is absolutely, positively not trying to create controversy or distractions. Uh, hmm.

THEN, Mike Florio weighed in on the site to explain exactly why Denver WR Brandon Marshall is a complete moron for trying to push a trade at the exact moment his trade leverage has never been shakier.

All in all, a solid day for our favorite pigskin pundits.

Moving on …

- High school umpire ejects entire crowd. That’ll show ‘em. (Des Moines Register)

- Arizona’s softball team may have lost in their bid for a College World Series championship this season, but they’re winning the battle for the hearts, minds and crotches of American males. (Uncoached)

- Blogger throws out list of 12 NBA franchises more deserving of a title than the Lakers; glaring omission of Clippers immediately throws credibility into question. Heh. (Hail Mary Jane)
